Movie: Pride and Prejudice (2005)

Pride and Prejudice

Really, the movie is good.

The casting is impressive. All the actors/actresses are very well suited for the role they have been assigned with. It is the first time I've seen Keira Knightley acting so well and with a role that suits her. The actor for Mr. Darcy, Matthew Macfayden, is also pretty good. His acting is very convincing especially in the beginning of the film, where he is thought to be arrogant and stuff. The actress for the Mrs. Bennet character, Brenda Blethyn, is also good. Being able to portray the idea that forcing her children, because they are all women, to get married is the most important thing.

The cinematography is also pretty good. The dances, the clothing, and the setting are very delightful.

The sounds are okay. Although I didn't like the dialogues all too well because they are fast. Sometimes I get lost with the conversations that the characters were having and had to decipher what was happening with the context clues.

Good movie. It gives a strong impression of feminism and freedom. Kind of makes me remember my Humanities class.

The novel may be equally interesting. It may be a good way to spend some slack time to read it.

The Da Vinci Code

Whatever. These are some of my thoughts when I was reading the book.

Brown's use of words. Fag, "what the devil", "like a kick in the gut", for me, means that Brown is trying to be modern and not Shakespeare like in his way of writing.

The pentacle is a symbol of Venus. It relates to beauty and perfection. The planet Venus creates a pentacle every 4 years.
The meaning of the pentacle is related by many movies to devil worship, but the basis is not solid. The church was behind the change in meaning of the symbol. It was a propaganda to make the old Pagan religion unlikable.

The sexism of the Opus Dei

The issue between countries. U.S.A. v.s. France.

The use of french.

"What was the rationale for fusing science and faith? Unbiased science could
not possibly be performed by a man who possessed faith in God. Nor did faith have any need for
physical confirmation of its beliefs." - Aringarosa

Unfortunately for my interests, 1579/1128 is 1.39982269504..
The words "Aringarosa" and "Collet" are both mentioned a total of 181 times. Cool.
I just remembered, I'm no cryptographer. XD
