The assembly time was 6:30 am, we ended up leaving at 7:30 am for some reason.
We went to Nangalisan, Tuba, Benguet to look at rocks. The start of one of the proofs that Baguio or, in general, most of the Philippines was once under the ocean. We traveled for about one hour from school to get to the destination, which was near the Asin hot springs.
In the first site, there was a hanging bridge, which we crossed 10 people at a time. It is a place where one can see thick sedimentary rock layers beside a river.
After around 20 minutes at that site, we moved on to the second destination. The class had to go down from a very steep and slippery platform because the site was down that platform. It was similar to the first site in that it also had the thick sedimentary rock layers, the difference is that the layers were in a different orientation. It is intriguing to see that it is possible for oceanic crust to tilt all the way to 90 degrees from its original horizontal position. That was cool to see.
The third destination was around 15 minutes away from the second. It was a conglomerate boulder haven. Huge rocks of conglomerate were present at the site. Also located at that site was a water irrigation system for the nearby village.
The final destination was beside Marcos Highway, I think. It seemed to be a marine fossil junk yard because many marine fossils can be found there without digging. Most of my classmates enjoyed picking them up.
We went back to school after that. We arrived at 12:30 pm.
The trip was pretty much okay. I kind of enjoyed it.
