I recently finished playing the PC version of the game. Took me about twelve hours in total.
Great game. The action, gore, graphics, sound, and other stuff makes me feel my adrenaline rushing as I pound the keyboard while playing.
The cinematics are fun to watch. When I saw that they are actually motion captured, it made me think higher of the game.
The story is pretty much okay. I was able to relate to it fast without any trouble. That is a good thing. The designers focused on the action part and made the story simple so that gamers will actually just play more and not analyze what is happening.
The graphics is good. It is smooth even if I played under a resolution of 640x480 with vertex shaders disabled.
The sounds are good. Hard rock music while playing made me want to smash the enemies on screen. Perfect combination.
The problem with the game is that it isn't keyboard-user friendly because some of the actions require certain button combinations in order to be executed. The game engine doesn't recognize three buttons pressed at a time, so there were many moves that I wasn't able to perform.
Adding to the disappointing list of the game are the puzzles. They are ridiculously very easy to solve. I mean, come on, this game is designed for "grown ups", why the hell are the puzzles too easy?
This is actually the first from the series that I have played. I'm not planning to play the first and second installations though.
I replayed it and finished all modes for Dante except Heaven or Hell since it is annoying. I didn't know that the Dante Must Die difficulty is really hard. So it took me time to finish it.
Here is the save file.
I can't wait for Devil May Cry 4 and the anime. I'm planning to buy an Xbox 360, not a PS3 since it is too expensive, just for that game. It's also possible to wait for the PC version but I kind of want to play it on a console.
